Atlas is a navigation app, so it needs your location to show where you are and route you. Your location and explored map stay on this device.
Optionally, Atlas can also back up and collect the following to a private cloud row keyed to a random device ID (no name, no email, no account):
Either way, drawing the map, searching, routing, and live traffic send your coordinates to our map providers (OpenFreeMap, Photon, OSRM, TomTom).
Cloud backup & sync is part of Atlas Plus. Your distance backup and usage events are kept until you erase them. Never sold or shared. You can withdraw consent or erase everything anytime in the privacy panel. See our Privacy Policy.

What Atlas uses: your precise/approximate device location (while the app is open) to show your position, route you, and uncover your explored map. Your location and explored map stay on this device — they are never uploaded.
Collected only if you opt in (cloud backup & analytics, part of Atlas Plus), keyed to a random device ID — never your name or an account: your total distance traveled (a single number); the destinations you set, routes you start, and arrivals; and the category of hazard reports you file (e.g. "accident" — not the marker's location).
What we never collect: your name, email, phone, contacts, photos. No advertising identifiers. No cross-app or cross-site tracking. Never sold.
Third parties (receive data whenever you use the map, even in local-only mode): map tiles/fonts — OpenFreeMap / OpenStreetMap; place search — Photon; routing — OSRM (your position + destination each time a route is calculated or you go off-route); live traffic — TomTom (a bounding box around your route); hosting — Vercel. Cloud backup/analytics — Supabase (only if you opt in).
